Online sales fizzle out and you're left explaining to frustrated buyers why the tech let you down. I've seen it happen live at stud auctions time and time again. It's gut-wrenching and this is why I designed and built our standalone off-grid node.

The Challenges of Remote Events
Out in rural Australia, events like stud auctions should be highlights of the year, big gatherings, big sales, big opportunities. Connectivity issues turns them into nightmares too often.
Nearly a quarter of grain farmers report that a quarter or less of their property has reliable mobile coverage.
Weak mobile signal means spotty calls for interstate buyers and with no Wi-Fi you can forget live bidding apps or sharing photos of the stock. Then there is power issues, failing generators in the heat which can bring everything to a halt. Broadband fares no better in many spots, with rural speeds lagging urban by up to 44%.

I've talked to station owners who've scrapped hybrid online sales because the tech couldn't keep up. It's a productivity killer in an industry already stretched thin by droughts and distances.

Starlink Internet Backhaul: Forget laggy satellite alternatives. The high-performance dish pulls in 50+Mbps downloads, even under patchy skies. Paired with the T-Go and you've got streaming-stable net for live auctions or guest uploads.
Local Network: Router with a switch and long-range access point. It dishes out WiFi over 200-300m. Enough to cover the pens, seating, and parking. Secure guest networks keep things tidy and easy.
Solar and Battery Power: Solar panels charge a battery bank and run it 48 hours straight, no generator hum. In the Aussie sun, it recharges in 4-6 hours. Everything's in IP67 enclosures, dust, winds? No worries.
